![]() And boy oh boy, did I get a beating there. After finding the egg I got to the glorious meat testicle level. The random respawning cyber aliens didn't help. It killed the fun I had with the game and the atmosphere was kinda dying. I also wasted time at the reactor because I couldn't find a way to open it until I checked my notes and there was the code from SHODAN.īut okay. Usually I get some exposition I can re-read, but this time I just didn't know I had to go through decks. So I had to look the walkthrough up and it told me to go to Deck 4. I wandered around not understanding what to do. And that was when the game started losing. So I did that and finally arrived at Deck 6. It took me hours and the walkthrough for the first time. I collected the three chips but couldn't find the last console. And then I got to the part where you have to kill Xerxes. I enjoyed the part where I started to be stronger and could allow myself to run and gun enemies down because the game started to throw more ranged enemies at me. I guess it is a limitation to enforce some survival base on the limitations of the game itself. And you have issues with managing your ammo in the first part of SS2. ![]() You face melee enemies you can easily kite and smack. Unlocking stuff and working towards something was fun. Slowly progressing multiple open paths just to see you need to go elsewhere and slowly getting a grip on the map. I really liked the beginning and the flow of the game. Okay, still worse than stuff I've seen elsewhere, what breaks it for me are the character and enemy models.Ĭharacters are the worst thing in this game. While the areas look okay, and the models are still. It is butt-ugly for the year it came out. I cam in blind, only knowing that is is a very good survival FPS games with a very good atmosphere. I finished the game in about 12 hours on hard for the very first time playing it.
